Find a calming place to sit and either in a chair or on the floor, being comfortable and still.  Bring your attention to your breath and as you start to delete the thoughts from the mind settle into the space with clarity and compassion!

Enjoy your meditation for 5 or 10 minutes.

Being fully present in your meditation will connect you to where you need to me.  Eat clean today, great healthy cooking and drink lots of water.

How about getting out and putting in 20 minutes of yoga, and walking today.

Meditation for your Body, Mind and Spirit, and the benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar!!

Hey Everyone,

I hope that you are really enjoying your meditations.  Meditations can be very personal, you may want your privacy with your meditation or they can be shared with many.  If you are having trouble meditating during your week, then seek out a yoga class or meditation class in your local area.  A lot of times we need to be among others to feel that support until you really feel comfortable doing it on your own.  We are all different and it’s important to find that special place for you!!

If your meditation journey is growing and you are getting in between 5 and 10 minutes a day or every other day, keep going.  Good for You!!!  Making progress and moving forward in your journey is a gift.  Enjoy it and hold it close to your heart.

Benefits of Vinegar

I wanted to cover a few different vinegars in the next few blogs..  So check in daily for some great nutritional tips!!

Sunburns can be helped. Bites from insects will feel better. Hiccups will stop. Warts will go away. These are some health benefits of vinegar.

Apple Cider and Honey

Because of its natural, abundant supply of potassium, magnesium, copper, iron, pectin, silicon, natural  malic acid and natural tartaric acid, organic, unfiltered apple cider vinegar is  a natural blood purifier, oxidizer and detoxifier. It prevents excess thickening  of the blood, which can result in high blood pressure, and dissolves excess fat,  mucous and phlegm throughout the body. Edamame & Veggie Fried Brown Rice for Energy and Nutrients

Ingredients 1-2 T cooking oil 1/3 c chopped yellow onion 2 c cooked brown rice (preferably day old) 1 c frozen shelled edamame 1 1/2 c frozen mixed veggies  3 large eggs, scrambled   2-3 T low-sodium soy sauce   1/3 c chopped green onions

Directions 1.   Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium high heat.  Add the chopped onion and cook quickly, until fragrant and slightly translucent.  Add the cooked brown rice and cook for about 1-2 minutes, then add the edamame and other frozen veggies.  Cook until the veggies are thawed.

2.  Add the eggs and soy sauce and mix together well.   Finally, add the chopped green onions and fold them into the rice gently.  Garnish with extra chopped scallions and soy sauce, serve with your favorite protein or on its own, and enjoy!

Mindful Meditation to start you day, Beginner Yoga Pose and Vitamin Rich Strawberries!

Good Morning,

Giving yourself this morning, special time for your meditation.  With love and gratitude treat yourself everyday for 5 to 10 minutes in a quiet meditation.

Beginner Yoga Poses

Stretch out the whole body this morning.  Forward Fold while on the floor or you can while in bed.  Take some nice deep breaths when doing your pose and try not to overstretch the Hamstrings.  As you can see in the picture, take it one step at a time and slowly venture down to where your arms are stretched out and your head is down.  This will create a great lengthening from the neck down the spine, and down the legs to the feet.  As the breath flows the body will come into a fully stretched body.  It’s really feels beautiful!!!

Peaceful Meditation Practice to Start your Week, Beginner Yoga Pose for Balance and Stability, Delicious and Healthy Zucchini Crisps!

Find your little Peaceful Path!  How can you connect with the peace within?  It’s around you, you just have to take the time to observe where that space is and reconnect with it.

Here is one way of trying to explore through your meditation.  It can sometimes take many different way of trying to get to that peaceful space….

Here are Six Steps to a Peaceful Meditation ~ BY DADAJI J. P. VASWANI

The FIRST is the step of rhythmic breathing.  Breathe in slowly, easily, evenly, and deeply and then breathe out slowly, easily, evenly, and deeply.

The SECOND is the step of detached observation.  In this step, as an observer you have to watch the movements of the mind.  Detach yourself from  the mind.  This is very, important.  You are not the mind.  You are only watching the mind.  Observe the mind without any judgment, without any criticism. You are but a silent observer; observe without judgment, without criticism.  You will find that as you detach yourself from the mind and just keep on watching it, its movements, gradually the mind will cease its activities.

The THIRD step is the step of serenity, the step of peace.  In this third step, you may imagine yourself as a rock in the midst of an ocean.  Waves arise. Be the rock.

The FORTH step is the step where you realize your oneness with all that is, all men, all creatures, all things, all conditions.  You are not apart from others.  The others & you are parts of the one great whole.

The FIFTH is meditation on your immortality.  In the fourth step you have realized that you are not merely in your physical body.  You are in all that is, in the experience that we call death.  It is the body that drops down, the physical body.  But you will continue to be, even when the body has  dropped down, you will continue to be in every grain of sand, in every drop of water, in every ray of sunshine.  Death cannot touch you.

The SIXTH step.  In this step you breathe out peace and happiness, goodwill and bliss to all.  May all be happy and full of peace and bliss.

Beginner Yoga Pose for Balance and Stability

How about trying Eagle Pose today and creating a stronger and more balanced you!!  Remember to bring left leg over right and right arm over left. So when opposites are connected you can gain better balance.  Keep the standing leg bent, and if you cannot connect the foot behind the ankle that’s ok, it doesn’t have to.  When you have the arms connected and you gain your balance, slightly pull up your arms, bring your attention to your core so the body is working together.  Let the breath flow through the body smoothly.  Hold the pose and switch sides when you are ready!

Try These Healthy and Delicious Zucchini Parmesan Crisps

Ingredients

  • Cooking spray
  • 2 medium zucchini (about 1 pound total)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan (3/4-ounce)
  • 1/4 cup plain dry bread crumbs
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper

Directions

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F. Coat a baking sheet with cooking spray.

Slice the zucchini into 1/4-inch thick rounds. In a medium bowl, toss the zucchini with the oil. In a small bowl, combine the Parmesan, bread crumbs, salt, and a few turns of pepper. Dip each round into the Parmesan mixture, coating it evenly on both sides, pressing the coating on to stick, and place in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.

Bake the zucchini rounds until browned and crisp, 25 to 30 minutes. Remove with spatula. Serve immediately.

Beginner Yoga Pose for your day!

Three Leg Down Dog  ~  Tri Pada Adho Mukha Svanasana

This strengthening pose stretches out and empowers the whole body.  Reaping all the benefits from your Down dog plus bringing the leg up brings in more strength and stability!  Hold and lengthen for as long as you can and bring in your breath to help you sustain the pose.  Bring the leg down, stretch in your Down Dog and proceed to Child’s Pose.  Rest for a minute or so and enjoy the other side!

End of Summer Corn and the Benefits

Yummy!!!! Enjoy as much delicious summer corn as you can before it’s all gone!!

Two ears of corn on the cob provide twenty percent of the daily recommended amount of the mineral, manganese. It stimulates the thyroid gland, to produce more triiodothyronine. Also known as T3, a hormone, that increases our bodies’ fat burning metabolic rate

A one-cup serving of corn supplies fifteen percent of the daily recommended amount  B vitamin,  transform more complex carbohydrates into glucose. Glucose is a form of usable energy. In addition, corn contains beta-carotene, which increases supplies of hemoglobin, a protein that delivers oxygen to cells, preventing fatigue.  Only use small amounts of butter and salt.  Using herbs and seasoning really give corn great added flavor, or just eating it plain is just… Perfect!!!
